Breakline Fishing League is affiliated with Eagle Brook Church in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. The League embraces the core beliefs of Eagle Brook Church.
The Five G's:
- Grace:
As believers of Jesus Christ, it is by grace through faith that we have been saved by His death and resurrection. We will receive God’s grace; live in God’s grace, and share God’s grace with others through this fishing league.
- Growth
This fishing league will provide an additional opportunity for people to become involved in what this church can offer to help grow in wisdom, character, and obedience. Through actively listing to the Holy Spirit and obeying, we will apply biblical truths in everything we do.
- Group:
During the fishing league outings while out on the water these small groups of people can get to know one another, learn to apply God’s word together, discuss issues, challenges of life, be real with each other, offer guidance, pray for each other, and hold each other accountable.
- Gifts:
The fishing league will help people find serving opportunities that best fit their personality, talents, and experiences. Encourage people to use their unique skills, and abilities to serve God with meaning and purpose.
- Good Stewardship:
This fishing league will use our time, talents, and resources to invest in a ministry that will have eternal value. Using biblical principles we will also demonstrate and encouraging everyone to manage all resources so they can experience the joy of investing in ways that really matter.
Scripture
Below are three scripture verses that organizers have chosen to help communicate the core values of the League:
Matthew 4:19
"Follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
1 Timothy 6:12
"Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses."
2 Timothy 4:7 -8
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
Mission and Ministry
Break Line Fishing League is great for individual growth and also as an outreach program to find people in their own transitional break lines of life. There may be some out there feeling like their stuck in a rock pile, or swimming in a thick bed weeds and going nowhere, or maybe there are those that are just sitting safely on the shoreline watching, and not knowing what to do, but all it would take is for a boat to go pick them up and get back on the “Break Line” for success.
The name “Break Line” also has multiple meanings, for any fisherman this meaning is the key ingredient of locating fish. Fish are found around transitional break lines in the underwater terrain such as rock piles, gravel beds, weed lines, sunken islands, shorelines, logs, a change in water depth or temperature. These are all transitional brake line structures that will hold fish during the season, and finding these break lines will lead to success. Learning to follow a break line will also take practice and experience on the water, as you have to stay on the break line and not go to far one way or the other or it could lead into dangerous or empty waters.
The other “Break Line” happens when you finally catch that big one and it breaks your line. That’s the moment when you know your fish the right break line and there are Big Fish there!!! Otherwise know as…hey, let’s go “Break Line”!!!
If we are going to catch anything, we need to be in the right spot. On any lake there is 70%-90% of water that does not contain any fish. Fish are like humans and are creatures of habit. Once you learn their specific habits, finding them (and catching them) will not be a problem. |
